No 1 Entity Should Have All That Power – @IamBrianJ

America is the first empire without an emperor. Corporations run it whether there is a Democrat or a Republican as President. The thing is, Presidents have an affect with changes like the Supreme Court. Corporations set foreign and domestic policy. Of the 100 largest economies in the world, 51 are corporations and 47 of those are US based. The World Bank and IMF are in fact American banks because the US holds veto power. The United States controls 17% of the vote of the IMF and 16% of the World Bank. A distant second is Japan

Mexican drug lords pay off government officials to be able to do what they do easily, and so does Wall Street. When double-digit millions of people are being foreclosed, is it really them? Or is it banker fraud? CitiGroup, Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America originated $100 Billion in sub prime loans from 2005-7; almost 75% of the total of all sub prime loans.

During the financial crisis, sub-prime loans were targeted at poor and minority borrowers. Banks essentially transferred wealth from the pockets

If you go without water for a week, you literally cry blood. When we search for life in the universe we search for water. We have a lot, but a majority isn't drinkable. With 97% salty, 2% locked in ice caps and glaciers; there is only 1% of it that we can use.

It’s perfectly reasonable to believe that there will be wars fought, over water. There is already foreign policy arranged around the commodity now.

There has never been an exact or perfect way to run a country. Some say less government, some say more is better. Economists may say more spending is necessary, but the other half will say to cut spending. It becomes confusing and situational, but the leadership of a nation is guided by personalities and consistency. The job becomes a lot tougher when we are talking about foreign affairs. Dealing with foreign affairs means foreign leaders and cultures that are harder to plan for.

I am against the war in Afghanistan. I just… Continue reading End This War - @IamBrianJ

unemployment

There are fourteen million unemployed Americans, 6.8 million of which have been unemployed for more then 27 weeks. This represents a large loss to American productivity, while congress is not passing unemployment extensions for these hard pressed workers.

Fourteen major economists have come out and said that “the urgent need is for government to replace the lost purchasing power of the unemployed and their families and to employ other tax-cut and spending programs to boost demand.” Which… Continue reading Update On Unemployment Extension - @IamBrianJ

We have gotten to the point in society where to be accepted, you have to be like everybody else. Whether we want to admit it or not, there is now an overwhelming trend of adult peer pressure. People have become conformists, checking off boxes of what we should be. If you believe in this, you dress like that. If you are from here, you wear this. If you are this race, you believe in this.

The problem is that people are too complex for that

With the internet, Twitter, and 24 hour cable news, it seems like there is nothing that can be hidden from the general public. If it’s out there, and we want to know it, we will find out. Sometimes we even find out stuff that we didn’t want to know. The media, including established reporters, all seem like paparazzi now. They are in the hunt for the new sexy story, and often lose or give a short life to the relevant stories. It makes you wonder if technology is doing all of us a disservice. Are our advancements slowing

The war in Afghanistan is now America’s longest war. United States military fatalities there have risen steadily since 2001: 12, 49, 48, 52, 99, 98, 117, 155, 317 and so far this year, 181. Since combat operations began on October 7th, 2001: 1,228. There are no exact numbers for civilians killed by both sides as a result of the Afghan War direct & indirect but reports say: 13,372 - 32,969 since 2001.

So, when the General… Continue reading Obama's War - @IamBrianJ

The President of the United States of America got the company that caused the largest environmental disaster in nation’s history to give the largest amount of money ever received from a private company. The $20 Billion escrow account set up to pay those damaged by the oil spill is just the start of what BP will have to pay out, but not a small deal. BP is now on paper taking ownership of this issue financially. President Obama has also gotten BP to suspend the large dividend payouts on their stock for the year. But, let’s not forget

It is getting hard to be optimistic about life as an American right now. We wake up every day with the realization that what once was the Gulf, has now turned into the black sea. Everybody that calls the ideas to plug the leak stupid, go there, and come back saying that they are doing the best they can and a very good job of it. Due to the pressures down there, if the hole gets plugged, several more holes will open up. Then we have the two wars we are fighting now. Afghanistan has just become the
