The Roots are The Roots, a group that is as dope live as they are on an album, and they just don’t disappoint you. This album, “How I Got Over”, is The Roots at their best. In my opinion, Black Thought has brought it with his lyrical word play, and deep insight. The first single, God 2.0, hit the seen hard core after the Detroit police killed 7 year old Ayana Jones. Before that, I must admit, I did not know The Roots were making an album.

Yall already know how I feel about hip hop and women in general. I've already told you guys how I feel the females in hip hop right now are just not up to par in my opinion. Well let me tell yall a little something about Lola aka Gangsta Boo.
You guys know I'm from up top so I admit back in the day I was a little biased when it came to down south rap. Well 1 day while watching "Rap City" Gangsta Boo was in the booth freestyling and she went INNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! From that time on I was a fan. I recently bumped into Boo at a video shoot for 8 Ball & MJG and she told me about… Continue reading Real FEMCEE'S SPIT - Gangsta Boo - "The Rumors" Mixtape FREE DOWNLOADR. Kelly UNTITLED

Whewwww, it's been a long time since I've done a CD review and that's been due to 2 things, 1 I haven't had the time and 2 there haven't really been any CD's dropped that I felt were worthy of me a) listening to, b) purchasing and c) me even hitting up the local bootleg guy for a copy of; the music industry is pretty much full of garbage.
Then there are REAL, TRUE artists that have an established fan base and proven track record so I get those CD's regardless, R. Kelly is one of those people. Aside from the 1st single "Number One" with Keri Hilson, which I like immediately, I hadn't heard any buzz about The R; UNTIL… Continue reading R. Kelly UNTITLEDRobin Thicke & Nicki Minaj

"Shaking it For Daddy" is the supposed next single for the Robin Thicke project dropping this month.
Shaking It For Daddy

This song sounds pretty okay to me, it's a little different for Robin, in my opinion, it's sounding a little hip hop to me. The song is clearly produced by Polow, I think that's pretty evident by the way the song sounds like Esther Dean's "Drop It Low".
I hate having to take ish back, but I gotta' admit Nicki sounds pretty good on this track. In the beginning she clearly is "going green" cus' she used the EXACT same damn flow as that 5 Star Chick Remix, she's on.
At the end of the day, I can hear… Continue reading Robin Thicke & Nicki MinajMario – DNA

OK Where do I start??? I guess on the same note as Mario wit the smash hit of “Break-up” wit Mr. Gucci “girls r like buses” Mane and “The Pen”. We all know regardless of however we feel bout Mario--How u Doing?? (A la Wendy Williams voice) or Gucci (get in the studio geeked—say whatever I feel and it’s a hit!!) that was the smash of the summer but if You’re like me then You NEED something more from music than just the radio hits.
I’m disappointed in the choice of Mario’s second single being “Thinking bout You”, because in my opinion it’s the weakest song on the album compared to songs like “Ooh baby” which is”4 the Radio” as he… Continue reading Mario - DNAMelanie Fiona

Wheeeewwwww!!!! CAN WE SAY BREATH OF FRESH AIR…OK so I got on my Fiona kick after seeing the video for “It Kills ME”. (that’s my ishh!!). In the era of THE RHIANNA’s and SASHA’s ( no disrespect, love em’ both), sometimes u get tired of the same sound.. Even with the “new”(been around for years) vocal effects.
In the case of Melonie Fiona’s “The Bridge” there are several different genres and sounds to this album. Everything from the classic soulful R&B hits likes “It Kills Me” to the reggae feel of “Somebody Come Get Me”( Itunes even classified it as reggae!!!). The Bridge has something for everybody. So if you’re a music head like me who needs to hear something more… Continue reading Melanie Fiona Raekwon – Only Built For Cuban Linx II

Hmmmmm, what is there really for me to say about this CD? If you follow me on Twitter, then you already know what it is with me and this CD.
I'm probably Rae's cheerleader right now with this CD, I mean they could really cut me a check and not feel like they got beat the way I talk about it. When I first got the CD I promise you I listened to House Of Flying Daggers for 2 days straight. By the way need I say that, Inspectah Deck whewwwwwww much respect my dude, he WENT IN on that ish! Meth too, the whole song just had me on my WUTANG sh*t!
Once I was able to get past the initial overdose of… Continue reading Raekwon - Only Built For Cuban Linx IIJay-Z BP3

Okay, so where do I start? How about when the BP3 leaked online before the release date? Nothing abnormal about album leaks now, hell it'd be abnormal if someone's CD didn't leak online early.
How about on Twitter and all the blog sites that declared BP3 a flop and said the songs were wack. I even heard that the tracks weren't good, now I must admit I found that to be SHOCKING because in my opinion Jay has NO PROBLEM in selecting tracks unlike that damn Jadakiss (I'm still upset about that all over the place non-synergistic CD he dropped, blasphemos).
I must admit I almost fell into yall's trap cus' after all the horrible tweets and blogs I "just knew"… Continue reading Jay-Z BP3
