20081006-pringles-cravers K.I.M Says: I told you guys about this recall earlier this week.  I also told you that the items effected would be growing as the FDA learns what the item they're recalling is used in (it's used in many different products).  Here's the latest addition. The Food and Drug Administration has asked Procter & Gamble to recall two flavors of its Pringles chipsdue to possible Salmonella contamination. The chips are just thelatest snack food to be recalled due to a flavor enhancer called Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, or HVP, that is used in a wide range of products and is tainted with Salmonella. The two Pringles flavors being recalled are the… Continue reading Pringles Chips Added To FDA Salmonella Recall

Yellow Light Districts, Shady Cities and $$$$

yellow-light K.I.M Says: This is crazy to me, the mess some of these cities are doing is fraudulent and I think should be considered entrapment.  I found this story and want EVERYONE to know about this especially if you live in the cities mentioned below. The yellow traffic light is taking on a new meaning for motorists during these tough economic times: one expensive trap. According to the National Motorists Association (NMA), some municipalities have been caught shortening the time in which yellow lights are on in order to generate additional revenue from tickets issued to motorists caught on traffic cameras running red lights. At least six… Continue reading Yellow Light Districts, Shady Cities and $$$$

Better Get Your Passports – The FEDS Want To Raise Prices!

us-passport K.I.M Says: Exactly what is the reason for this suggested increase?  You already get your own picture, did the little blue books go up?  I think it's just another way to get some additional income, smh. The State Department apparently isn't concerned about helping us integrate into the global village, though, because it's on the verge of pulling the trigger on giant passport fee hikes that far outstrip the rate of inflation. If the fees go through, first-timers will pay $135 to get their passports, up from $100, and kids will pay $105, up from $85. Renewals will cost $110 (instead of the current $75), and Passport Cards, which are good for non-air travel, will rise by 50%, from… Continue reading Better Get Your Passports - The FEDS Want To Raise Prices!

wheel-of-salmonella_6001 This recall is so crazy it's to the point where the FDA doesn't even know ALL of the items involved and the list of things effected is expected to grow exponentially.  The product being recalled due to salmonella is an ingredient food distributors use in a lot of different products. The FDA says they have no way of knowing how far this recall should go because they don't know all of the food items it's used in.  Check out the Brands that are on the list below but remember THIS LIST IS EXPECTED TO GROW! Click on the items below to find out the EXACT product… Continue reading FDA - Salmonella Food Recalls - HUGE

f1macroshot K.I.M Says: This is for all you Windows XP users. If you're still using Windows XPMicrosoft has a piece of security advice for you: don't hit F1.A recently discovered vulnerability is disrupting how Windows XP handles VBScripts that are used to load Help files. Hackers could disguise malicious code as a Windows Help file (with the extension ".hlp"), and then launch a pop-up window prompting users to press F1 for help. Pressing F1 would in fact load… Continue reading Microsoft Users - Don't Press F1 Key!

You’ve Got An Extra 3 – 7 Days On That Expired Milk

expiration K.I.M Says: I think I kind of already figured this 1 out cus' I've often used milk after the expiration date as long as it "smells" right, after all, "the nose, knows...." lol.  My kids on the other hand will straight pour out a half of gallon of milk if it's past the expiration date cus' of the stamp on the carton. This story says that the expiration date on dairy and even meats is for the store's purposes and not the consumers.  WOW!!!  I'm still not trusting the meat, that's a little different in my opinion. The fact is, the "sell by" date that appears on that questionable gallon of milk serves as a guideline for stores on when they should… Continue reading You've Got An Extra 3 - 7 Days On That Expired Milk

credit-cards K.I.M Says: Since the new credit card law change has been enacted I think this information might be pretty useful to some of you. Consider these 10 tips for managing your credit cards in 2010.

Tip 1: Pay down holiday purchases.

Reducing your outstanding balance protects against negative changes to your account, saves money and improves your credit score. Until the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act, or CARD Act, takes effect Feb. 22, you're vulnerable to interest rate hikes that could apply to an existing balance. A lower balance also could help cushion your credit score against credit limit reductions. An important ratio in credit scoring formulas is the… Continue reading 10 Best Credit Card Moves In 2010
