It’s almost that time of the year again and I just want to give people this very important information.
Unless you are in DIRE straits, please don’t patronize these quick fix/quick pay tax return companies, they prey on low income people and you are giving them money for nothing.
You can file your taxes online, electronically file and have your money direct deposited in 7 days all for about $25. In most cases if your earned income was lower than a certain amount (they haven’t released this year’s numbers yet) you can even have this done FREE of charge.
You usually have to wait until January (13-15th) because they have to wait on the IRS to start accepting electronic returns and all you need is your w-2, and it’s completely paperless.
A lot of companies offer this service but TaxAct is one of the best and the cheapest. Check out their website for additional details.
Please stop letting these companies take advantage of you.
