Awww Man, Michael Douglas Has Stage 4 Cancer

I'm a fan of Michael Douglas and I'm shocked to find out that he's been diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer.  This is especially odd to me because, does he not have regular checkups?   You'd think someone with his finances would.  The next question that comes to mind is, if he has been seeing his doctor regularly how did they miss this?  Stage 4 is pretty far along. Douglas says he has an 80% chance in beating it and I hope so and wish him the best.  I don't recall ever hearing of anyone beating a "Stage 4" cancer though.
