Are You Unemployed? “Tough Shit” Says Kentucky’s Republican Senator Bunning

Looks like the Senate was trying to pass a law to extend the unemployment and insurance benefits for the unemployed due to the lack of jobs in the country and the state of this recession we’re in.
The law ALMOST got passed but there was ONE hold out. Senator Bunning said until they can find the $10 billion to pay for the law, he’s against it and was heard muttering “tough shit” when people asked what about the unemployed.
To show he’s not just a complete fool, the reason he says he’s against it is because he doesn’t want to add to the deficit. I understand that idea but we’re talking about people and families. This type of stuff really annoys me because America historically will ignore things or do nothing about things that go on right in our front yards but we’re always the first to start throwing billions at other countries in need.
There’s nothing wrong with charity but I believe charity starts at HOME!
Everyone is pretty much upset with this guy and it doesn’t look like he’s going to fold. Other Senators are writing him letters (probably emails, do people still write letters that often) asking him to “stand down”, I doubt he’ll do it. He’s been questioned about his language, he’s made no response. HOLD UP! What is it about this administration that these guys feel like they can just be swearing everywhere? I’m not doubting there weren’t some people wanting to or swearing under their breath while Bush was President, but seems to me it’s almost a “free for all” in these sessions since Obama was sworn in. That’s another blog altogether…
This is why people need to pay special attention to the elections in their States and VOTE! The person you help put in office will be the person to help pass or fail a law. If this was just pertaining to Kentucky, I’d probably say who cares, let the Kentuckians (is that a word? I guess so the spellcheck didn’t object, lol) live with what their elected official decided. But this is the ENTIRE U.S. we’re talking about.
I hope it’s true 1 monkey don’t stop no show….. time will tell.
