Next Lifetime
So 1 of my favorite songs ever is Erykah Badu’s “Next Lifetime, it’s funny cus’ 1 of my Tweeples asked recently on Twitter if people believe we have more than 1 soul mate?
I really believe that the universe issues us several soul mates and that as one goes away for whatever reason another one is issued. I also think that there are several of them roaming around that we probably will never meet. But what happens when you think you’ve met your soul mate but do to other circumstances the two of you can’t be together?
I think that is one of the craziest, hardest things to go through. To me when you connect with a person so CRAZY that everything just seems to line up, how can it not be right? Especially when some stuff sneaks up on you, that’s when I feel that without a doubt that’s real. I mean you weren’t even checking for that person, you might have known them all along but it was never a thought and then one day it hits you like a Mac truck, then what do you do?
It’s so easy to say F everything, go for it. It’s so easy to say leave it alone, don’t mess up whatever else is going on in your life. But what happens when you’re unable to do either or afraid to do one? We always say the “life’s too short, live it to the fullest” and all that other fortune cookie sounding ish, but how real is that?
While listening to Erykah’s CD recently it made me remember the dilema she brought forth and showed so perfectly in the song and the video, it made me think, I don’t know….why wait until next lifetime when it’s presenting itself in this one? Or should we just wait for the Universe to issue our next soulmate?
I don’t know, some stuff is just unexplainable and some stuff is just too strong to deny. What do yall think?
