Whewwww, it’s been a long time since I’ve done a CD review and that’s been due to 2 things, 1 I haven’t had the time and 2 there haven’t really been any CD’s dropped that I felt were worthy of me a) listening to, b) purchasing and c) me even hitting up the local bootleg guy for a copy of; the music industry is pretty much full of garbage.

Then there are REAL, TRUE artists that have an established fan base and proven track record so I get those CD’s regardless, R. Kelly is one of those people.  Aside from the 1st single “Number One” with Keri Hilson, which I like immediately, I hadn’t heard any buzz about The R; UNTIL I heard he had some stuff to say to Trey Songs, who I’m guessing was making some comments and “attempting” to come at Robert.

So in my true, 1st week, Target $9.99 CD fashion, I copped “Untitled” and here’s my review…

Out of 15 songs on this CD, I have to say it’s a pretty solid offering from R. Kelly.  I know a lot of people are done with him after the whole underage girl thing but people can’t front that he’s a great musician and i seriously question whether he’s one of the best music writers/producers ever.  Yes, it’s very obvious that he’s listened and copied some of the past greats your Smoky Robinson, Curtis Mayfield, Gamble and Huff’s etc. but in my opinion he’s the best writer/producer of my generation, but back to this CD.

#1 “Crazy Night”, not feeling at all, I’m just waiting for Jim Jones and Dipset to hop on the track, sounds like some Ron Browz ish, in my opinion……WACK, R, you don’t have to stoop to these clowns, stop lowering the bar to what you think fits or is in, nikka you wrote “I Believe I Can Fly”.

#2 “Exit”, Now THIS is the R. Kelly I know and love, I like this song but it’s actually kinda’ funny, only R. Kelly could sing Prada, Louie, Gucci, you’re so beautifululullulllllllllll!

#3 “Echo”, Hmmmmmm is this a flip of Beyonce’s “Halo”?  I kinda’ like the song, I mean it’s ok, but the yodeling, I’m looking over my shoulder for the “Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate” chick, lol.  I listen to this for about a good minute before I skip it.

#4 “Bangin’ The Headboard”, Some old classic R. Kelly baby making ish’, COSIGN!!!!!!

#5 “Go Low”, ok look, if this was back in the day, I’d probably have a tape of this song on repeat 1 whole side, I’m thinking twins, oooppps, that was the “12 Play” CD. LMAO!

#6 “Whole Lotta Kisses”, Tis reminds me of another R. Kelly song, I can’t quite think of the name but it’s almost the same track and everything, the CD with “You Remind Me Of My Jeep”, classic R. Kelly.

#7 “Like I Do”, ehhhhh, I don’t feel anyway about this song, almost sounds like Usher in the beginning and reminds me of “Same Girl”, it’s an ok album cut.

#8 “Number One”, I already told yall I like this song, surprised Keri sang “D”, I mean I knew that’s what they meant when I heard it on the radio but i didn’t think she really sang the word.

#9 “I Love The DJ”, WACK, sounds like some almost techno ish, sort of like Chris Brown double-mint commercial, I hate it but it’ll probably be big on the pop stations.

#10 “Supaman”, HELL TO THE NAWWWWWWWWW!!!!, I hate that OJ kid, just annoying!

#11 “Be My #2″, Another side chick song huh?  Don’t like it, it almost sounds like some disco mess to me and it sounds like The Dream and I don’t like him either.

#12 “Text Me”, Now he’s back on track, I’m thinking the last 3 songs were so he doesn’t deliberately sweat out some chick’s weave.

#13 “Religious”, Take note YOUNGINS!!!! This is what makes R. Kelly, THAT NIKKA!!!!!!  This song is sooooooo DOPE, this man can write a song that is better than some of these other cats ENTIRE CD.  Something religious about you, something church about you, this is so dope!!!!  MY FAVORITE TRACK ON THE CD!!!!!

#14 “Elsewhere”, Another beautiful song, listen to his voice, that sh*ts so clean and crisp, this dude can sing and the song’s lyrics are hot to, very pretty beak up song.

#15 “Pregnant”, Ummmm it’s aight but after dropping 4, I aint’ got me liking anything that might put in some fools head to try and knock me up.  Been there and done that!  Tyrese sounds good, I can’t even tell where Robin Thicke is on the song and The Dream, ehhhhh

Overall, I give the CD a 4 out of 5 cus’ to me he could’ve left the 3 wack songs out and would’ve had a solid 12 track CD.  He loses 1 for not knowing to stick to “him” and leave that other trickery to the less talented people.

NOTE TO TREY SONGS: Due you’re progressing nicely but slow down youngin’ you still ain’t R. Kelly, keep training, I see you and maybe you got next!
