glass-house okay, so I've been tweeting about going through some mess with my son and I said I was gonna' write about it so here it is. My son, my child, MY SON had the complete total loss of everything I've ever taught him and decided he was gonna' roll with some new kids he met and they were going to break into somebody's house.  This "privileged" FOOL changed his mind after the window broke at the house and left but one of the kids went in the house and got caught and snitched. When I was awakened by a police officer telling me MY SON was picked up a couple of streets over after some kid gave him up, I COMPLETELY flipped… Continue reading My House Is GLASS, My Son Made Me Cry!

K.I.M Says: I think this is BS, in this instance I probably would've cussed the Principal out and then some, what type of perverted sh*t was he asking her?  Check out this story. A New Jersey mom fed up with bullying shared her feelings with the school principal -- using some colorful language -- and now she's facing criminal charges.According to MYFOXNY, Cindy Schwalb claims a boy pulled down her 13-year-old daughter's sweatpants in front of her classmates at Hasbrouck Heights Middle School. She shared her frustrations at a school board seminar on bullying. When the school superintendent questioned her about the incident -- including asking Schwalb if her daughter was wearing a thong at the time --… Continue reading Mom Who Cussed Out Principle Faces Charges

1264449661184.JPEG An overprotective Michigan father drove his daughter's boyfriend's car onto an icy lake earlier this month and left it there with the young man still inside, police said. Scott David Sullivan was looking for his daughter at about 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 3 when he spotted her boyfriend's 2010 Dodge Charger parked at a beach near Pleasant Lake, according to West Bloomfield Police Lt. Carl Fuhs. Sullivan looked closer and saw his 14-year-old daughter and her 16-year-old boyfriend together in the backseat. Both teens were fully clothed, police said, but their amorous behavior apparently enraged Sullivan."The father dragged his girl out of the backseat, left the 16-year-old boy in the… Continue reading Dads' Used 2 Get Shotguns For Their Daughter's Boyfriends

New Year + Old Way Of Thinking =?? You Do The Math…

photo Spotted on Brother Jessie's Blog K.I.M Says: Check out this blog written by a teen in Houston.  The things she says speaks far greater than her years, many of you will enjoy this... by Guest Blogger Rashidah Muhammad New Year + Old Way of Thinking = ?? I think it equals no progress in life and no effort to develop and pursue new goals that you must achieve. With an old way of thinking you're going to enter the track race AGAIN (without preparing differently), trying something new, and get last place AGAIN. If you see, that strategy isn't working; how about trying something new (NEW WAY OF THINKING) and you will come out a winner. But you know as they say… Continue reading New Year + Old Way Of Thinking =?? You Do The Math...

What About Our Daughters?

hookup-list500 Spotted on Sandra Rose This here is EXACTLY why I'm trying to reach out to these kids, it's why I created The Secret Life teen blog spot of this site and why I'm launching a very extensive marketing campaign beginning January 1st. Our daughters are lost, hell more than half of our grown azz women are lost.  Something needs to be done about this.  I blame the videos, the commercials, movies, tv, magazines, Ray J, Flavor of Love, Real Chance's and Bad Girls Club esque shows. Our society is devaluing and cheapening our greatest asset, OUR WOMEN and it's going to impact our future tremendously.  It is these type "girls & women" (term used lightly) that will bear and raise our future… Continue reading What About Our Daughters?

1 Bad Apple

bad-apple You know what they say about 1 bad apple spoiling the bunch right?  Well, what do you do when the bunch you're referring to are children?  It's kind of difficult raising kids when there are more than one because they take plays from each other. They will constantly try you because they may have seen their sibling get away with something and they expect the same result from the parent when they do it.  I also believe that they get strength in numbers, meaning a single child would be more hesitant to do stuff by himself versus a child who has another or other kids riding shotgun. I think one of the biggest problems that face people with multiple kids, especially when… Continue reading 1 Bad Apple

Mother_and_Child_Statue_1024x768 I swear I did one of the hardest things I've ever had to do Sunday.  If you follow me on Twitter then you might've seen my tweet about pulling an Angela Basset in "Boyz N Da Hood". After 16 years I had to call up my ex-husband to come get his son.  It's not that my son is a bad kid, but he's a boy, growing into a young man right before my very eyes and I think I've carried him as far as I can take him as a woman.  It started with the porn episode and I really believe that sometime over the last summer while he was away, some lil girl got caught up in his light eyes… Continue reading My Man-Child

I am Alisha Muhammad, a person from almost a no-parent situation but definitely not a product of those circumstances, and neither are my children victims of my improper upbringing. I pray the same for all in my situation and know '”Raising Boys” will be instrumental in addressing the heartaches of single parents and their children.
My mother left my father before I was born and was a workaholic all of my childhood. I was a latchkey child; waking myself for school, getting myself ready, seeing myself off and arriving home in the evenings to be greeted by no one. When there was food I fed myself. I put myself to bed so I could
