I Made You So Why Not Come Full Circle = 360 Deals

Everyone knows that the record business is facing a terrible future and in dire straits so why is everyone up in arms about them trying to survive? It’s sort of like when your body goes into starvation mode, it starts eating the muscle so why should business be any different? The music industry has gone into starvation mode too and they can’t eat off the muscle they’ve developed over the years so now the new muscle gotta work for the old.
Enter the 360 deal…
From the label standpoint, why should I big you up and make you famous and not reap the long term benefits of my initial investment? As a business person my self, I don’t see anything wrong with that, when you borrow money from a bank you pay interest on the loan, right? The record labels are essentially banks so it makes sense to me. On the other hand there is a point where that loan is paid off in full and you don’t pay interest on it for ever, eva eva eva eva (Andre’ 3000 voice).
From the artist standpoint, why should I have to give you a part of all of my future earnings all because you loaned me some money, didn’t I have to recoup all that, it aint’ like you GAVE me nothing and you made your money back, that’s some bullsh*t, modern day slavery!
Now as i stated I don’t see anything wrong with the 360 deals, people aren’t selling or buying records like they used to. Frankly, people don’t need records anymore, they can get them offline so what do they really need a label for? Promotion and marketing, which is little to none right now, right? I say if you have the money to do it, do it yourself but if you don’t have the money and need the label, then shut the f*ck up and sign the deal.
Why do these same people (artists) not have a problem giving their manager a percentage and all they’re doing in most instances is taking meetings, I mean honestly the lawyers go over the contracts so the managers are really glorified assistants in my opinion. There are some “super managers” that make things happen but notice I said SOME.
360 deals are a sign of the times so you have 2 choices.
OPTION #1 if you can do it on your own, DO IT ON YOUR OWN!!!!
OPTION #2 deal with it or make a deal around it and stop b*tching or keep b*tching and become the bottom b*tch, LMAO!!!!!!
