DJ, Producer, Executive, Entrepreneur. Phillip Green, b/k/a DJ Blak, has acquired all of these titles at 22 years old and this is just the beginning.

As the tour DJ for Block Entertainment/Bad Boy South recording artist Yung Joc, President of Hustlenomics (Yung Joc’s production company) and producer & artist manager, DJ Blak is a music mogul in the making. DJ Blak’s career in music was destined, not chosen. At age 14, Phillip Green went to Golden Glide skating rink, a popular youth hangout on the eastside of Atlanta. While at the rink Philip decided the only way to control the music being played at Golden Glide was to be a DJ. Under the mentorship of DJ Q Tip, DJ Blak was born. Through DJ Q Tip’s tutelage, DJ Blak became a highly requested DJ on the eastside and eventually landed a prime spot at 21 and up Buckhead nightclub, Club Fuel, at age 16.

A year later DJ Blak was recruited by the Legion of Doom and began working the strip club circuit at historic Atlanta strip club, Jazzy T’s, under the direction of DJ Funky “The Strip Club King.” While excelling in high school, DJ Blak used his ear for music and sound advice to invest in studio equipment to form the production company Free Agent Entertainment. Also, during his last year of high school, DJ Blak had the opportunity to work at Macon, GA radio station Foxy with Mike Roberts. After graduating high school, Blak entered college at Georgia State University and continued to DJ on and off campus.

Always thirsty for knowledge, DJ Blak landed an internship with Redzone Entertainment, owned by Tricky Stewart, producer for artists Rihanna, Lloyd, B2K, and Sammie to name a few. During this 3 year internship Blak learned the fundamentals of music production, recording, writing and business operations. As an intern, DJ Blak was approached by DJ Koolaid to start working at world famous Atlanta strip club, Magic City. DJ Blak worked his way from the day shift to the coveted night shift, which gave him more exposure and the opportunity to break new records. This new- found fame gave him a career outside of the club and on the road.

DJ Blak became the tour DJ/show producer for then newcomers, TI, Ciara, Tango Redd, Black Jack and Oowee. A chance meeting at Magic City with the Block Entertainment/Bad Boy South family and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs led to his current status as the music coordinator for Block Entertainment and a touring resume with Yung Joc, Gorilla Zoe and Boys N Da Hood. DJ Blak has traveled the world from Atlanta to Los Angeles to Japan and back again. The young mover and shaker has appeared as a DJ on Jay Leno, BET’s 106 & Park and Access Granted, Apollo, and CD USA. Never satisfied with his current success, DJ Blak has aspirations to host television & radio, develop new artists, and produce hit records for the music industry’s superstars. Stay tuned… There is much more to come from the youngest in charge!

We started out together at Golden Glide. He always had an ear for the popular music along with a singing voice/ songwriting skills that could rival professionals at the time. He had his track set for a jouney of success. We grew to be great friends, and partners on early ventures. Blak encouraged me to get ahead of the pack and become the Marketing Executive, Entreprenuer and Community Advocate that I am today. It’s the passion he has for his craft that helps to inspire everyone he meets. Keep your eye on this guy!!

    • KIM says:

Trust, it gets better, but hey You already knew that. smh

      • Lo says:

        Hey Kim,

Much Congrats to you and your accomplishment. You should ignore the haters (Jenny Jones) and rise above and don’t allow yourself to stoop to that level. Tit for Tat is a waste of time. Some comments aren’t even worth a response. Keep doing you and those that support you will continue to do so and the others will fall by the wayside. With any venture, you will encounter negativity and it is so easy to succomb to that without realizing it. The best thing to do is to focus your energy on the positives and you will do just fine.

I look forward to your site and wish you much success!!!

        • KIM says:
